Sara and Sebastian recently attended the Design Research Society’s biennial conference, DRS 2026, held in Edinburgh, UK, from 8–12 June.

As part of the programme, Sara co-chaired the panel More than Human Climate Learning: Systems, Translation and Regeneration. Bringing together five papers, the session explored how design research can foster new forms of climate learning—looking beyond human-centred perspectives towards interconnected ecological systems, translation and regeneration.

Sara also took part in the workshop Exploring Data Otherwise: Countermapping More-Than-Human Design Practices, which considered alternative ways of working with data and mapping more-than-human relationships. A meetup focused on more-than-human conversation offered another valuable opportunity to exchange ideas and connect with researchers working across this growing field.

Following the main conference, Sebastian attended DRS P.S!, a Fringe event featuring a panel discussion and open mic. The gathering offered a lively space to unpack some of the key themes, questions and ideas that had emerged during DRS 2026.
