HCID met at St Margaret's House on 9 July and took a day away from everyday research and academic activities to reflect on what we achieved this year and how we can push ourselves even further in the future.

Our more experienced researchers explained how we can secure funding for new projects and which funding opportunities we could apply for. We shared updates on our current research and then paired up for a Walk and Talk session. We wandered around Bethnal Green while discussing our work and exchanging ideas because, as Tolkien once said, "not all those who wander are lost".

It wouldn't be a design team session without Post-it notes! We armed ourselves with colourful notes and Sharpies and spent the afternoon discussing future ideas for collaborations and our individual commitments, finishing the day with a clear set of action points.

Many thanks to Sebastian Prost for organising the away day, and to our co-directors, Stephanie Wilson and Sara Heitlinger, for their guidance and support.
