Save the Date! The HCID Conference is returning on Wednesday, 23rd September 2026 to City St George's University of London, and we are looking for speakers!

This year our theme is ‘Rage Against the Machine!*’ It will be a call to arms for people in our field. Highlighting the negative impact technology is having on society and suggesting how we can all take positive action. The conference will explore topics such as 'Enshitification', 'Tech Neutrality' and 'Digital Feudalism'.
For years, our conferences have subtly encouraged more positive practices through themes such as 'Design for Good', 'Design Better' and 'Design for All'. But now we feel its time to take a more active role in instigating positive change. We hope through the day, we will create a network of like-minded professionals from Industry and Academia who can collectively counter the forces corrupting our disciplines.
If you feel strongly on this theme and want to get involved, then please get in touch with Stuart Scott. To ensure the day is even, we are keen to showcase voices talking about the current challenges as well as how they can be overcome. We will ask all potential speakers to submit some information to be reviewed by our organising committee.
The HCID Conference is an annual event hosted by The Centre for Human-Computer Interaction Design (HCID) at City St George’s, University of London.
