HCID Conference 2025: Paradigm Shift

On June 24th, 2025, we welcomed around 150 participants to City, St George’s, University of London for the HCID Conference 2025, a day of ideas and critical reflections around the theme: Paradigm Shift.

With global challenges often described as a “poly-crisis”, our goal was to explore how design can navigate complexity, foster resilience, and question the status quo. The day kicked off with a keynote from Christoph Hassler on Facing the Poly-Crisis, setting the tone for a series of thought-provoking talks across three parallel tracks: AI, Sustainability & Accessibility, and Design Practice.

The day concluded with a powerful pair of closing keynotes: Reem Talhouk on Humanitarian AI and Raj Arjan from Google, reflecting on "The Only Constant is Change."

And of course, no HCID Conference would be complete without networking, nibbles, and a trip to the pub.

Thank you to all speakers and attendees for a wonderful HCID Conference 2025! Until next year!
